Cbg construction objectives:
-We will make a string instrument that will produce sound that incorporates an original design.
-We will apply physics knowledge when constructing/designing our instruments to produce certain sounds.
-We will measure fret distance based on scale length calculations.

What i know about cigar box guitars:
Before 1840 cigars were sold in bulk, many packages with 100 or more cigars; however, after 1840 cigars were sold in boxes that contained about 20-25 cigars. These were the first of the cigar boxes; the same type we will be working with on our projects. Around 1840-1860 the first cigar box instruments were recorded and were even used by Union soldiers in the 1870's. Cigar box guitars were very popular in the south and flourished during the Great Depression as an inexpensive pastime and a way to express emotions.
